Follow Me Tandem: The Ultimate Family Cycling Solution

Beyond the Woom bikes themselves, the best thing I bought for riding with young kids was the Follow Me Tandem. Honestly, one of the best things I’ve ever bought, period.

The genius of it: your kid rides solo until they’re tired, then you hook their bike up to the tandem coupling and tow them the rest of the way. No more “I’m tired” turning into a forced march home. You finish the ride.

It’s a bit fiddly to set up the first time, and it adds some weight to the adult bike — but it pops off when you don’t need it.

One thing to know before you buy: there are real compatibility limits on both ends. Not every adult bike works, and not every kid bike works either. Do the research before you order — when I got mine, I worked directly with Woom to make sure the pairing was right.

Pair it with a gel seat (see the Woom post) and you can ride a lot farther than you’d think.
