Did Tesla’s “Fixes” Break My Lights?

Tesla’s latest update supposedly fixed the automatic light adjustment… except now mine seems completely broken? The release notes claimed this was fixed?

It wouldn’t be so frustrating if they put actual physical controls in the vehicle for when something breaks, but everything is engineered with the assumption things will “just work” – which happens few and far between in my experience.

I’m not even sure if my park assist was ever actually available. And I’ve lost count of how many times my right door pillar camera shows as “obstructed” for no apparent reason.

In retrospect, I’m questioning how good an idea it was to build a car’s technology around cameras that frequently can’t see properly, while providing no manual backup controls when the software inevitably fails.

And before the IT crowd jumps in – yes, I’ve tried unplugging it and plugging it back in (plus countless reboots).

I’m old enough to remember foot high beam controls, and those were far easier and more efficient than fighting rogue software trying to keep it from blinding oncoming vehicles. Other drivers already flash their lights at me because of how bright Tesla’s low beams are.

Anyone else dealing with similar frustrations after updates? How are your automatic headlights working?
