Follow Me Tandem: The Ultimate Family Cycling Solution

Beyond great Woom kids’ bikes, the best thing I purchased for riding with young children was the Follow Me Tandem Bike trailer. This has to be the best bike accessory ever invented for family cycling!

The genius of the @FollowMeTandem system is that your child can ride solo until they get tired, and then you just hook their bike up to the tandem device once they run out of energy. You simply tow them the rest of the way. It completely eliminates the “I’m tired” whining and allows you to finish your ride without being stuck halfway through your route.

It’s not the easiest system to set up initially, but once you do, it’s an absolute game-changer for family rides. It is a bit heavy on the adult bike but can be removed when not needed.

Important notes before purchasing:

  • There are limitations on what adult bikes you can attach it to
  • There are also restrictions on what child bikes are compatible
  • Be sure to do your research before you buy
  • I worked with Woom when I purchased mine to ensure compatibility

The Follow Me Tandem pairs perfectly with the comfortable gel seats I added to our Woom bikes for longer family adventures. This combination lets us tackle more ambitious routes without worrying about tired kids or uncomfortable seats causing complaints.
