Party of One — Enough Is Enough (Song 3)

Party of One is the one where I went after the machine itself — why nothing ever gets done. Start with the two-party system. It’s inherently flawed, and it was never built to handle the kind of money that’s in it now. Then Citizens United knocked the guardrails down: unlimited money, dark money, spend whatever you want and don’t disclose it, and a Supreme Court that keeps stripping away the protections we had. Corporations treated as people, money treated as speech. That’s the root of most of it, and it’s quietly taken real choices away from regular people.

The frustrating part is how much we actually agree on. I’m convinced almost everyone in this country is fiscally conservative with their own money — people don’t want to waste what they’ve got, because most of us don’t have enough to waste. And most people believe in freedom and equal rights; it’s amazing how many won’t say it out loud, but I still think it’s the majority. We agree on a huge amount. Nothing gets done anyway, because the system is built so one party can cover for the other.

I want to be careful — I’m not making a false equivalence. The parties aren’t the same. One is much more geared toward stopping things and shrinking government than toward helping people, and that message lands because nobody wants their taxes raised — even when, for most people, they wouldn’t be. That’s decades of Grover Norquist-style tax-pledge conditioning, and it traces right back to money in politics again. Both sides run on fear: one side, “they’ll take away your rights,” the other, “they’ll raise your taxes.” And around and around it goes.

For the sound I wanted raw acoustic punk — a Green Day energy, raw vocal, raw guitar, nothing overproduced. It’s a protest song; keep it about the voice, don’t let the drums and guitars swallow it. Maybe I was too rigid about that, but that’s what I was going for in Suno.

The first video leaned hard into the same protest posters from the original Enough Is Enough animation, in 9×16 — Claude wrote the prompts and Adobe Firefly rendered elements that I laid over those poster backgrounds. This was the third and last video built on that original poster set. For this repost I redid it with the pipeline I settled on: Claude prompts, ChatGPT stills, Kling animation.

How I made this one (the honest breakdown)

• The idea: mine — going after the machine itself: the two-party duopoly, Citizens United, dark money.
• Words & lyrics: I dictate, then work them through with Claude as an editor and sounding board — reject, rewrite, keep pushing until they land.
• Music: Suno. I directed the feel — raw acoustic punk, Green Day energy, kept about the vocal.
• Original video (9×16): the origin protest posters as backgrounds, with elements from Claude prompts → Adobe Firefly laid over them, built as a lyric video.
• Redo video: Claude (prompts) → ChatGPT (stills) → Kling (animation), trimmed and assembled by me.
