Divided We Fall: The Complete 10-Part Series

The culture war as a business model — and what’s actually true on the issues it sells you

Every morning, millions of Americans wake up angry about something they saw on a screen. The outrage is real. The threat feels immediate. But the machinery that creates and amplifies that outrage is a business — one that profits whether or not the things it sells you to be afraid of are actually happening.

This series isn’t an argument that culture war issues don’t matter. Some of them matter enormously. It’s an argument that you’ve been sold a version of them designed to keep you furious, exhausted, and pointed at the wrong target. Each of the ten parts takes one of the headline flashpoints — abortion, guns, CRT/DEI, public media, immigration, climate, voter fraud, cancel culture, the “freedom” framing — and shows what the data actually says, who profits from the framing, and what would change if we stopped letting the manufactured version of the issue drive policy.

The series is written to be read in order, but each part stands on its own if there’s an issue you want to start with.

The Series

Part 1: The Culture War
The manufactured outrage economy. Who builds it, who funds it, and what they get back when you stay angry.

Part 2: Abortion — What Happens After the Laws Change
Setting aside where you stand morally — here’s what the post-Dobbs data shows about maternal health, infant mortality, and the women the laws were supposed to help.

Part 3: Guns — What the Data Shows About Violence and Solutions
Setting aside where you stand on the 2nd Amendment — here’s what actually reduces gun deaths, and which “solutions” don’t.

Part 4: CRT, DEI, and Trans Rights — Manufactured Crises or Real Concerns?
The activist who openly explained the strategy on Twitter. Three “issues” engineered into flashpoints, and what’s actually happening in classrooms and workplaces.

Part 5: Public Media — What’s Actually at Stake
Beyond the bias debate. What NPR and PBS actually do, who relies on them, and what disappears if they go.

Part 6: Immigration — The Wedge That Doesn’t Have to Be
The crisis is real. The framing isn’t. What the numbers actually show about crime, jobs, the border, and the policy options nobody runs on.

Part 7: Climate Change — The Profit Model of Denial
Exxon’s own scientists told them, in 1977. Here’s what they did with that information, and how the doubt machine got built.

Part 8: Voter Fraud — Solving a Problem?
What every audit, lawsuit, and investigation actually found after 2020. And what the “solutions” being passed in its name actually do.

Part 9: Cancel Culture and “Woke” — Who’s Really Being Silenced?
Everyone claims they’re being canceled. The data on who actually loses jobs, gets banned, or has speech restricted — and who’s actually doing the restricting.

Part 10: The Freedom Fraud — Crime, Corporations, and Schools
“Small government” until the government is dictating what businesses can do, what teachers can teach, and what books you can read. The pattern across all three.

If you only read two parts, read Part 1 to understand the machinery, and Part 10 to see the through-line.
